Adding a Global URL

 

This functionality enables you to link any third party web application to clients’ database like accounting packs/inventory management and asset management. This link will be available in client profile as well as client history section. The linked site will accept certain parameters, such as username and a value for that parameter, and enable the user to login.

 

Example: Suppose you want an existing accounting application hosted at http://www.youraccounting.com, which displays clients financial details on the basis of User Name (attribute value as sent by name specified in parameter name section) then you can create a Global URL to link that accounting package as follows http://www.youraccounting.com.

 

Note: This feature is useful in viewing other related details online.

 

To add a global URL:

 

1.      Open Configure Your Helpdesk page.

2.      Click Add Global URL Help Desk Software, helpdesk software, customer support software, customer service software, trouble ticket software, knowledgebaseto open Add URL page, as shown in the Figure 3-2-1.

 

Tip: You can also click on Help Desk Software, helpdesk software, customer support software, customer service software, trouble ticket software, knowledgebase from the toolbar to access the Add URL page directly.

 

3.      Enter information in the required fields:

The URL address.

Parameter Name

Name of the parameter that you want to pass.

Attribute

Name of the field to be picked from the database.

Display Name

Name for the link.
